CBT's priority is investment opportunities located in the Columbia Basin. However, given the limitations of investing in a small region, there is a balance of funds that is available for investment in a portfolio of Market Securities.

Market Securities include a range of investments such as short term deposits, bonds and equities. Target allocations for each of the investment categories are outlined in the Statement of Investment Policies and Procedures and CBT has engaged an external professional investment firm to manage the portfolio.
