Seniors' Care Facilities

Columbia Basin Trust has invested in 8 seniors' care facilities in the Basin, providing 803 suites. Each of these facilities was developed with a joint venture partner, comprised of local investors. Together, the joint venture partners own the land and buildings and lease the facility to an operator, Golden Life Management, a Basin-based business.

Lake View Village, Nelson, BC

This facility opened in January 2010 with 90 independent living suites. More information on this facility is available on the Golden Life Management website.

Mountain Side Village, Fruitvale, BC

This facility opened in 2009 with 53 independent living suites. More information on this facility is available on the Golden Life Management website.

Garden View Village, Kimberley, BC

This facility opened in 2007 with 74 independent living and assisted living suites. More information on this facility is available on the Golden Life Management website.

Crest View Village, Creston, BC

This facility opened in 2006 with 74 independent living and assisted living suites. The facility was expanded in Spring 2008 to include an additional 32 residential care suites. More information on this facility is available on the Golden Life Management website.

Joseph Creek Village, Cranbrook, BC

This facility was purchased in 2005 and expanded the same year to provide a total of 120 independent living and assisted living suites. In 2008 a new facility, Joseph Creek Care Village, opened with 102 residential care suites. Together, the two facilities form the Kootenay region's largest care community. Columbia Garden Village, Invermere, BC

Rocky Mountain Village, Fernie, BC

This facility opened in 2004 with 74 independent living, assisted living and residential care suites. The facility was expanded in Spring 2008 to include an additional 11 residential care suites. More information on this facility is available on the Golden Life Management website.

Castle Wood Village, Castlegar, BC

This facility opened in 2002 with 77 independent living and assisted living suites. The facility was expanded in 2010 to include 33 independent living suites. More information on this facility is available on the Golden Life Management website.


A number of suites in select facilities are subsidized in part by IHA and BC Housing.
